The interactive light and sound installation “Revive” was created in the former banking hall of the health insurance AOK in the Rungestraße 3-7 for the Festival of Lights Berlin 2014. The building was provided to the students of BTK Hochschule für Gestaltung for their project by Ziegert-Immobilien. The project included a video mapping on the architecture of the gutted hall and of a central light sculpture which could be influenced by the visitors.
The light sculpture consisted of five interlaced, luminous rings and symbolized on the one hand the heart of the building and on the other hand a clock – a clock that recorded the time of the vacancy. When a visitor entered the building and approached one of the many pillars, which support the metal construction of the roof, the energy was transferred to the light sculpture, visible as a light projection on pillars and roof structure. The heart began to beat faster through the energy of the visitors. The more visitors the more energy for the building and the faster the heart started to beat.
